Mervyn Simmonds
|
|
After gaining an honours
degree from Nottingham University, Mervyn Simmonds spent thirteen years working
in a succession of management positions within British Steel Corporation,
ending up as the manager of a billet finishing mill with responsibility for two
hundred and fifty staff and a turnover of £70 million.
Mervyn then
joined Janssen Pharmaceutica in the UK where his career progressed rapidly,
taking in experience as representative, sales manager, product manager, and
group product manager in both hospitals and GP products.
|
|
Moving to the Belgian
International Headquarters of Janssen Pharmaceutica, he took responsibility for
sales management issues within International Marketing, as well as organising
and running sales and marketing management training for the world-wide
organisation.
|
 |
With the rapidly changing
environment in Eastern Europe and China, Mervyn formed a group to provide
marketing support and training for emerging markets, which resulted in the
development of stand-alone organisations within a short space of
time.
After returning to England, he joined Complete Healthcare Training
to help run and develop training programmes for today's pharmaceutical
industry. In 2001, together with John Jewell, he started JS
Training.
With his blend of marketing, sales and training experience, he
is able to work in the areas of "Marketing", "Business Planning", "People
Management" and "Sales".
|
|
Over the last six years he
has worked with more than 50 different pharmaceutical companies on both open
and in-house courses in more than twenty-eight countries. |
John Jewell
|
|
John Jewell gained an
honours degree in economics from Essex University before joining the EC in
Brussels. After two years he joined Pfizer at their European Management Centre
in Brussels and worked in market research and planning. Returning to the UK, he
spent time with Pfizer as a representative, area manager and product
manager.
John then moved to Sanofi UK as Group Product Manager, before
becoming Sales and Marketing Manager of Reckitt & Colman. After six months
as a training consultant for IMS, John set up "Contrast", a training
consultancy, as part of the Innovex group. Eight years ago John started
Complete Healthcare Training and developed a comprehensive range of
pharmaceutical training programmes in the UK and internationally. In 2001 he,
together with Mervyn Simmonds, established JS Training, of which John is the
Managing Director.
John has worked with most major pharmaceutical
companies on in-house workshops as well as running a range of open courses. In
