Solvay to restructure operations
Solvay to restructure operations
Date published: 22/12/2005
Solvay
Healthcare has said that it is in the process of restructuring the company
after its purchase of Fournier Pharmaceuticals in July. The firm said in a
statement that the company's "product priorities" had changed following the
merger, and that the firm had restructured as a result, leaving 30 people
jobless.
"We are convinced that we will be creating the best possible
size, shape and mix of organisation to optimise our product portfolio going
forward" said chief executive Dr John Peter.
"Fortunately we were able
to offer generous severance terms and the response to a voluntary redundancy
offer was good," he added.
Solvay Healthcare made sales of £40
million during 2004, and is part of the global Solvay Group.
