GlaxoSmithKline executives targeted by extremists
Date published: 08/02/2006
Two
GlaxoSmithKline Executives have reportedly
been targeted by animal rights extremists. The Independent reports that
non-executive director Sir Ian Prosser and company secretary Simon Bicknell
were targeted with letters being sent to their neighbours making a series of
allegations.
The Animal
Liberation Front has claimed responsibility for the attacks saying that the
company is a client of Huntingdon Life Sciences. A Roche executive is also
thought to have been hit by the extremist campaign, which along with letters to
neighbours has involved graffiti of allegations being daubed over
property.
The news follows a report from the Association of the British
Pharmaceutical Industry that found the number of such extremist attacks fell
during 2005, but the number of aggressive attacks increased.
