At the end of March 2004 all trusts within Scotland are to be dissolved,
thus creating single health care organisations for all 15 NHS Boards. These
organisations will comprise of a board and operating divisions, which will be
known as either Acute Operating Division and Primary Care Operating Division or
General Hospitals Division and Community Health Division. Local Health Care
Co-operatives (LHCCs) are to develop into Community Health Partnerships (CHPs)
by April 2005. Wales Information Communication
Technology (ICT) Foundation Projects in Wales In order to maximise the
use of the ICT infrastructure a comprehensive Benefits Realisation project has
to be undertaken. A key element if this is the quality of the clinical data and
its use to support delivery of patient care. There is therefore a drive to
improve data quality within all practices. This is the remit of the Data
Quality Initiative (DQI) of the ICT Foundation Programme. The funding available
during the lifetime of the ICT Foundation Programme is targeted to support the
delivery of high quality, valid and accurate registers to support CHD and
diabetes. The aim is to develop good practice with regard to data entry within
GMP's and provide a more complete electronic patient record. |
