Graduate trainee medical sales
positions are available accross a broad range of both pharmaceutical and
healthcare sectors. Whilst a degree is not absolutely essential to getting
started as a trainee pharmaceutical sales represenative, the top pharmaceutical
sales companies often prefer to take on graduates, those with a nursing or
paramedical background or individuals with some form of marketing or ethical
sales experience. A common first trainee sales role in the pharmaceutical
sector is that of a field based trainee sales representative, promoting ethical
pharmaceuticals to GPs, hospital doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other related
practice and hospital staff. Whilst a degree is not essential with all
companies, one vital competency is that of drive, with clear evidence that
there is serious intent about gaining employment as a Medical Sales trainee. A
common way that this is measured is via the level of research undertaken by a
potential trainee sales candidate, with an essential benck mark of time spent
shadowing am existing Medical Representative.
